Dish Satellite Internet and Television Programming Together At Last

Now Dish satellite internet and television bring it all together. Quality communications that are both convenient and fast are available to you all in one package.

StarBand satellite internet provides an alternative to slow dial-up service in geographical locations that are not presently served by DSL or cable modem companies. Starband internet access is up to ten times faster than dial-up service with download speeds of up to 500 kbps and upload speeds of 100 kbps. StarBand is an always-on connection that doesn't require a telephone line for access. A second line is no longer needed for internet access, and you can chat and be online at the same time.

Dish Network offers digital television programming and StarBand high-speed internet access together in two ways. First, to receive Dish Network's digital television programming on the StarBand system, a Dish Network upgrade to the 24 by 36 inch StarBand satellite dish antenna is necessary. Internet and television billing can be combined for your convenience. For present Dish Network subscribers with Dish 500 programming, an upgrade is as simple as switching the antenna mount and adding two coaxial cables to the StarBand Model 180. Dish Network satellite television is not currently offered through other satellite internet providers.

Professional installation of satellite internet equipment is required. Satellite internet requires two-way communications between your computer and the communications satellite and therefore requires a more precise alignment for optimal performance. To properly install the dish antenna, there should be an unobstructed line of sight free of buildings, trees, or power lines.
