Internet Connection

by Saskia LaRue

staff writer for Satelite-Internet.com

In this computer age, all kinds of information are readily available if you have an Internet connection.

Having an Internet connection nowadays is not as simple as used to be. You can get an Internet connection through numerous methods. You can connect to the web through your phone line, through cable, or even wirelessly.

An Internet connection through your phone line is the most simple. All you need to do is buy a modem for your computer, install it, and hook it up to the phone line. However, there are a couple choices if a phone line is chosen. The older and slower 56k modem can be used, but one downside is that it ties up the phone line. DSL is another option, and allows users to connect at high speeds.

You can also connect to the net with a cable Internet connection. This can be done by checking with local companies to see if they offer that service. Cable is roughly equivalent with DSL, and neither interferes with other items in the house.

For the more web savvy and those in need of mobile access to the web, a wireless Internet connection to the web is becoming more available. Once again, you must check with providers to see if this service is offered, but wireless web is more uncommon than the above two.

In your search for an Internet connection, keep your eyes open and pick what suits you best.
