Enterasys Introduces Managed Security Service
Provider Program.
Enterasys Networks Inc., a global provider of
Secure NetworksTM for enterprise customers, announced an
expansion of its comprehensive partner strategy with the
introduction of its Managed Security Service Provider (MSSP)
program. The company also announced NetSec, a leading MSSP
serving enterprises and federal government agencies, as its
first MSSP partner.
Through the new program, Enterasys will enable
MSSPs to deliver the most intelligent, flexible, scalable and
cost-effective network security services to their customers.
This will extend Enterasys' reach into one of the fastest
growing segments of IT outsourcing, estimated to reach $3
billion by 2006, according to research firm Gartner.
"Protecting networks from the ever-increasing
damage done by worms, viruses and internal misuse tops the list
with virtually all organizations, regardless of revenue size,
geographic location or market focus," said Mark Aslett,
president, Enterasys Networks. "A growing number of companies
are choosing to work with MSSPs to address their security
requirements. These providers recognize the compelling benefits
of Enterasys Secure Networks strategy and our suite of network
hardware and software products. Our new MSSP program is a key
extension of our long-standing commitment to partners, and
ensures a strong, interactive relationship between Enterasys and
the managed security services provider community."
An integrated approach that forms the nucleus of
a secure infrastructure and complements existing security
appliances, Enterasys' Secure Networks solutions make security
pervasive across the network. By embedding security throughout
the network fabric, customers can respond quickly and
effectively to combat threats to their networks and information
assets. With Enterasys' unique software and full range of
cost-effective, network infrastructure solutions for securing
networks, customers minimize exposure to internal and external
threats through centralized control and enforcement of
enterprise security policies. Notably, the company recently
expanded its portfolio with the announcement of Dragon Remote
Site, a network-based Intrusion Detection Sensor designed for
enterprise remote sites and MSSPs.
"Enterasys' MSSP Program has all of the
components we look for in a partnership—outstanding technology,
training and support—coupled with no conflicts of interest,"
said Mordecai Rosen, vice president of Corporate Development at
NetSec. "And, with Enterasys' Secure Networks solutions, we can
offer differentiated solutions to our enterprise customers."
