Qwest opens retail stores, partners with Best Buy
on DSL sales
Qwest Communications International Inc. has
opened four retail stores in Arizona, the Denver-based telephone
and broadband communications services provider announced
Wednesday.
The Phoenix service centers, 5090 N. 40th Street
and 10220 N. 25th Drive, will allow customers a venue to sample
and purchase products and talk to experts about Qwest wireless,
high-speed Internet service, home-phone packages and
long-distance service.
Additionally, the centers will offer technical
assistance and minor repairs for wireless handsets, answer
billing inquiries, assist with feature changes and have a
convenient bill drop location, Qwest officials said.
The Tucson Solutions Centers are located in
Tucson Mall and Park Place in Tucson.
Qwest also announced Wednesday that it has
implemented a partnership to sell high-speed Internet service at
82 Best Buy locations across its region.
"By offering Qwest DSL at convenient locations
such as Best Buy, we are bringing high-speed Internet access
closer to everyone and ensuring that the service is as easy to
purchase as possible," said Jim Vogel, vice president of sales
for Qwest. Qwest is a provider of voice, video and data services
to more than 25
million customers. Since its purchase of US West
in 2000, it has been the primary local telephone service
provider in 14 western states, including Arizona.
