SBC drops the price on its SBC Yahoo! DSL service.
Just one week after SBC Communications Inc.
(NYSE: SBC) announced adding 446,000 digital subscriber lines
(DSL) to its subscription base last quarter, the San
Antonio-based company has decided once again to drop the price
of its SBC Yahoo! DSL service.
SBC, already the nation's largest provider of
high-speed DSL Internet service, is offering new residential
customers a promotional price of $26.95 a month if they sign up
through sbc.com or any one of 2,000 retail outlets that market
SBC Yahoo! This is $3 less that the current offering.
SBC ended the first quarter 2004 with nearly 4
million DSL lines in service, up 60 percent over the past year.
This is the ninth consecutive quarter of DSL
growth, according to SBC spokeswoman Laura Slagle. Through this
latest promotion, the company is working to continue that
momentum and attract even more subscribers.
