Freeserve denies cheap broadband to tempt
switchers
Freeserve is not commenting on a report that it
offered an existing customer a cut in the price of their
broadband connection to stop them switching to another ISP.
The customer told The Register that, 'The
[cancellations] advisor offered to supply my service for £19.99
if I stayed with Freeserve. This has now been actioned and my
new Freeserve BB price is indeed £19.99 per month.'
Freeserve told us that it has no idea where this
information came from. Asked whether it was true or not, the
company would not comment.
The company's standard charge for its 512K
service is £27.99 per month, although the first three months are
currently being offered at £15.99.
